Im back! but not really...

Hey patient blog readers!

It has been forever since I've written. I was gone on my vacation for a week. And when I got back, the next day the Internet system fell in my house. And so I couldn't get anything up! And it'll be a little bit til I get things up about my trip.  I've been itching to write though. Especially for the sake of Diane. ;)

So here's the deal. Right now I'm in Santiago! How did that happen you may ask? Well, I'll tell ya. My uncle and his family invited me to stay at their house in Santiago for a few days. Today it's Saturday. I'll stay here until Thursday.

Right now I'm on the tablet of Fernanda. I don't have a way to upload my pictures... so telling you about my trip to the south will have to wait. :(

Other big newssssss. The day after we got back from our trip, the mom of one of the other exchange students in Curicó called to see if we were back. And she asked us when we are going to change families. My mom said that we'd do it the next weekend like we had planned. But she insisted that we do it this weekend. And the 3rd family wanted that too. And so Vivien (German exchange student) will arrive at the house on Sunday (tomorrow) and when I get back from Santiago on Thursday, I'll go to my house, pick up my bags, and go to my new house and family in Romeral. So that's a change in plans. Yesterday I got my suitcases and packed up my life again. I finished it up this morning. And HOLY COW do I have a lot of stuff.  I don't know how I'm going to get everything home... And I still have 5 months of things to accumulate! I packed a smaller duffel bag to take to Santiago.

Yesterday I ate lunch at my grandma's house time for the last time. But at some point I'll go back and visit. I'm going to miss it. My grandma is so sweet and is a fantastic cook. When we said good bye she cried :'( and she called me "my queen" (mi reina!). I'm also going to miss my aunt Eli. She is always so nice to me. And I will miss Francisca. My 3.5 year old cousin. We play together a lot. And some times she calls me "la Barbie".

I'm not sure how to feel about the change. I've lived in the house for half a year. That's a lot. Clearing out my room was weird. I have had a lot of frustrated nights and have cried a lot in there. Haha. My family has been a good family for me. My mom has done so much for me. Giving me everything i needed and making sure I was comfortable. They have had so much patience with me.

But on the other hand, I'm anxious to get to my next family, my new city, my new house. And form a great relationship with them. Just when I got the hang of things in my family... and the hang of colectivos. And the hang of everything. I'M starting over. Haha. But there won't be nearly as much of a problem language-wise.

So that's the deal. I have so many pictures and things to tell you all about my vacation to the south. And I'll get around to it eventually. I have an outline for each day on my iPod. So I won't forget it. ;) and then about Santiago and the family change.

In other news, I am now on the official list of the students going to the North of Chile Rotary trip. And that is from the 6th of March until the 13th. NOT on the 4th like I thought. So I won't be missing my birthday. :)

Also. I have no idea when school actually starts. I heard March 3rd, and then the 5th and then yesterday someone told me February 27th.So who knows... But it's soon.

So sorry for the wait. But I'll get time to update about everything sometime soon I hope!

I'm doing great and will have a great week here with my Chilean relatives!

  4. Yay, Christy! Changing host families is hard, but it will bring a new perspective to Chilean life and before you know it you'll have another wonderful home. Besides, it wouldn't be fair for one family to get you all to themselves for the whole year. Share the Christy. :)
