Ahhh I have sooo much to write about! And I'm determined to get it all up by tonight (Sunday). And so keep checking back and scroll down a few posts to make sure you don't miss any posts! ;)
Ok. So we wake up in Hornopierén and eat breakfast and leave by 12 to drive to yet another dock. We got there at 2:30 and waited half an hour and then got on the boat. After the boat ride, we had a 40 minute drive to Puerto Montt.
Some pictures from the drive:
On parts of the shore, there were piles and piles of shells. It was crazy!
You know; just someone making a half garage-half boat.
We stopped and had lunch and then drove some more to get to Puerto Varas. And there, we met up with my family again! A couple days back, I got an email from my Rotary district here telling me that I had to pay for the trip to the North of Chile. And that the payment was due soon. And by the time we got to this day when I met up with my parents, it was due the next day. So I went to an internet cafe and called Dad and he went to the bank and tried to do it. But there were complications. And so we were scrambling to figure out what in the world to do. Luckily, Roberto made the transfer and payed for it. And so I have a free trip to the North of Chile!! Ha. Just kidding. I went and took money from my account at an ATM the next few days. I'm so thankful for him because without him I'm not sure I would've made it on the list!
After that was all taken care of, we went with my mom and got some good hot chocolate and cake at a place. Then we walked the streets a bit and watched a band that was performing.
Then we went to the cars and sat around talking while my dad and uncle tried to fix part of the car broken in the accident.
The pretty view:
Then we went to find a cabaña. We found two and then met up at Roberto's. It was 11 or so and I was completely exhausted from the trip. And then we decided we'd do an asado (barbeque). So the adults went to the store and bought the things. And we talked and ate chips and looked at my pictures from the trip until it was done. We all ate together and it was nice. And we left there at 2 and I finally got to sleep at 3!
Luckily the next day we all slept in and I slept until 10. It was the real leaving day to go back home to Curicó. We went into town, had some super good juice and cake and started driving at 2. We stopped to eat lunch for almost two hours. And we stopped at a few gas stations along the way. And at 2 in the morning, we finally pulled up to our house!
I had such a good time on this trip. And especially loved spending time with my uncle and his wonderful family. I'm thankful for the opportunities I have!
Still sounds exhausting. I'm always confused when you write about eating a meal at 11...does she mean a.m. or p.m.?
ReplyDeleteOnce again, beautiful pictures! How is it that the Chileans can stay up so late and still have so much energy?!
