Carolina's House!

Oh goodness, this was such a long time ago! But time to start catching up so I can remember for ever and ever all the great times in Chile. :)

At the end of March (!!) there was a festival in Curicó called Vendimia. It is a big wine harvest festival. A bunch of a artists performed too. Carolina invited me to go on a Friday night.

I went to her house in the early afternoon and I spent the whole day hanging out with Carolina and Jorge. Jorge is one of my classmates too, and is Carolina's uncle. We watched a love movie and then Elysium It was raining pretty hard out, really raining. As we were halfway through the second movie, the lights went out! And they stayed out for the next few hours. We had dinner with candles.

MmmMmmm tacos! (taco is also the word for a traffic jam ;) )

As we ate, we listened to the radio and heared that they were post poning the festival until the next night. So we couldn't go that night. We played some cards and then they took me home.

A couple pictures from the night, Carolina and I:

I'll just tack on some more random happenings... In language class we were assigned to read "La Amortajada" (translated into English, The Shrouded Woman)

It only had 100 pages, but it was hard to understand because the old spanish is more formal. I started reading a week before the test and thought, I can totally do this. I had read 60 pages but realized I wasn't understanding or retaining anything. So I plain gave up on reading and started reading summaries online. The first one I read was in Spanish and I read half of it  before I realized it! Yay! I felt smart. I made notes of who people were and the basics of what happened and went to school on test day. I listened to people study and it helped me. Apparently I knew all the right information because I left the test feeling good! And a few weeks later, when we got our notes back, I couldn't believe it! A 6.6 (94%!)! That was almost the best in the class! hahahhaha. YES.
