Monday the 23rd:
On Monday morning we needed to be out of the rooms by 11. We woke up at 10:15 and hurried to get ready. I showered quick and fought to get all my things in my bag. By a miracle, it zipped and we joined all the bags in another room.
Miguel, Carolina, Rodrigo, Paula, Alexandra, and I went out to buy some beloved Bariloche chocolate and sweatshirts. We rushed back for lunch. This isn't from the last day, but a picture from one of the days for lunch:
We had a little more than an hour of free time before it was time to leave. Rodrigo still hasn't boughten all the presents for his family, so I went with him to get that done. I didn't buy a ton of things since I recently sent a Christmas package to Michigan and had presents for my host family already. I bought a bracelet, some post cards, and I got a little jewelry box which I thought was pretty. I barely ever buy things for myself like that. But a lot of the places I travel, I'm trying to buy a little something so I can remember. :) And I'm starting to have a little collection on my desk.
We made it back in time to bring all of our bags downstairs. Here's some of them piled in the lobby:
We met up at 1:30 and an hour later, we were on our way back home. :( We drove for a few hours...
Another sleeping picture:
And then we got out at the border to do paperwork things. I had a little hard attack when they asked if I had my passport. But Then they realized I don't need it. Phew.
The view from the stop:
We drove for a while more and at 8 or 9 stopped in Pucón, Chile. The adults bought bread, ham, cheese, juice, and cookies while we went to the beach. We took some pictures:
Toledo, Lobos, Alejandra, Scarlet, Nico, and Rodrigo:

And I bought some wooden flowers from a vendor. They're cool. :)
While there, my ears were hurting pretty bad from the altitude. But it passed after an hour.
Back on the bus to enjoy Chilean bread.
At 10:30 we stopped to eat in Temuco.

I texted and called my mom to tell her we'd be arriving in Curicó at 6:00 or so.
We got to the school at 5:45 and were met by happy/tired parents. It was nice to see the happy reunions. My dad was there and we drove home. I talked to my mom for a minute and told her that the trip was great. And I was passed out in my bed by 6:05. I slept until 12:30 or 1 and then the celebrating of Christmas began! But I'll get to that next post.
My trip to Bariloche was one I will never ever forget! I made a lot of great memories with my amazing Chilean friends and feel so blessed.
This is my last post about my Bariloche trip and now I'm on to write about Christmas, a trip to "la piedra de la iglesia", Iloca, a visit from my favorite Brazilians, New Year's in Chile, and more! Thanks for reading!
Also, this is my 50th blog post! :)

In case you didn't know it, BRC is the airport code for the Bariloche International Airport. Nice sweatshirt, by the way. It matches your shoes and shorts.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that! But i was wondering. But I bought it anyways cuz it's cute. :) I know! I felt very pink. hahahaha. But that's not really anything new in the life of Christy.
DeleteHappy 50th post!! Sounds like you had a great time ... So different than the class trips over here. I am starting to think that when you come home you may sleep for a month straight. <3
ReplyDeleteThis trip was definitely a lot different than how class trips would be in Ironwood. (If we HAD any!) And I think you're on to something... I'll be home in July but I'll sleep until tennis season. ;)
