Sorry guys... a NICE WARM BEACH POST!

I feel like a bad person writing this post considering the condition my friends and family are in back in the freezing U.S.. Sorry guys, this post is about my trip to the beach!

On the 28th (James' and Miranda's Wedding day!!), we headed off to Iloca to meet up with Moncho at their beach house. On the drive, we stopped at a watermelon stand and they sliced up a big one for my brothers, dad, and I to share. Then, as we continued driving there was a big fire in a field. There have been a ton of fires everywhere because it's pretty dry here.
We stopped in Constitución and ate lunch with Moncho, Mariela, Victor, Javiera, and Victor José. I had this really good thing broth with chicken and mariscos! I forgot the word for these things in English... But it was so so so delicious. And of course you need a big plate of french fries to accompany it.
After lunch, we went and explored Constitución! We walked down to the beach and to the Piedra de la Iglesia. It was soooo windy. As you'll be able to tell in the pictures. But so breathtakingly beautiful.

Our legs and faces got pelted with sand (arena!) but it was fun.
Then we drove up a little more up to another lookout point. I really love this picture. The sunlight on the water is perfect.

Then we stopped and bought some yogurt and kept driving to Iloca.

We hung out at the house and had tea and bread. We played cards and talked and it was a good night.

Then next day the teenagers slept in while the adults went to buy fish for dinner. We had lunch and it was really good. Fish with rice and salads.

After relaxing for a bit, we went to the beach! And I swam in the sea! The water was pretty chilly and it was so salty. Which is a big difference from Lake Superior- well, the salty part anyways.
We ate some peanuts from a vendor and found some crabs(cangrejos!)!

 And a little one!
It was a nice couple of hours relaxing on the beach. :)

When we left the beach, we went back to the house for a while. Before finally heading out for Curicó. We got home at about 11... and there was an exciting Facebook message waiting for me!

Well... it's lunch time. :P Posts to come.

    OF COURSE you do!!

    Wait, you ate clams???

That rock in the ocean is a lot cooler than the Lake Superior cement building.

Graffiti: Te amo Pipe! Graffiti is the same everywhere in the world.

    Ummm. What exciting Facebook message?

Is that what those are called?? clams? huh. YES! We eat them every once in a while. And they are so good! At first I didn't love them, but now I order them when I can.

Just a bit.... I'm not sure why.

      Hahahahhaa.

You'll just have to wait, now won't you?

    1. I'm writing it right now!

Thanks :) Yep. I haven't had to eat many different things. But when I do, or do something exchange student-y, I give myself some imaginary "exchange student" points. They've gotta be valid for something someday right?
